MEET OUR 2017 COACHES
“ I have spend a great amount of time looking for a coaching team that is highly educated in cheer, gymnastics, dance, coaching, performance and working with youth. I could not have found a better group of coaches then those listed below. They are passionate, focused, educated and talented- all qualities mentors for young girls should have. I believe our diverse training backgrounds will set us apart from other sports training facilities.”
Abbey Girard, is the owner of Brantford Cheer.
She is a graduate of Capilano University, where she obtained a degree in Performing Arts. Pervious to completing her degree she also received an advanced diploma in Musical Theatre Performance. Abbey Girard has more than 15 years of tumbling, dance, cheer, fitness & performing experience. Over the last two years Abbey has travelled across North America studying cheer! She has taken part in a staggering amount of teaching seminars, coaching summits, workshop & competitions. She even competed in the 2016 Miss Canada Pageant. Abbey holds the following advanced certifications, USASF (All-Star Cheer Federation), NFHS (The National Federation of High School Associations) Cheer Coaching, Acrobatic Arts instruction, Fitness Instruction Specialist, Zumba, Pilates & Yoga.
In addition to Brantford Cheer, Abbey owns an established & reputable Performing Arts Academy. She hopes to use Cheerleading as a platform to empower youth and inspire them to be confident. It is her mission to offer programs that encourage youth to accept themselves; be brave, make mistakes, get silly and work-hard to achieve their goals! She is a very passionate instructor & is thrilled to be bringing All-Star cheerleading to her hometown!

Jessica Froates, is ready for Brantford Cheer!
She has over 8 years of advanced training in Cheerleading & Dance. Starting at a local dance studio from a very young age, Jessica fell in love with performing! Her favourite styles include Acro, Ballet & Tap. Throughout her advanced dance training she competed in many dance competitions. Jessica still carries a love for dance but decided to focus on cheerleading. Advancing quickly through All-Star cheerleading levels, she was placed on one of the highest levels of All-Star cheer. Her team was fortunate enough to be selected to compete at Jr. Worlds in Orlando, Florida! Jessica is very excited combine her love of cheer & working with children. She most recently graduated for Mohawk College with her Early Childhood Education Diploma. She plans to attend teacher's college, in hopes of becoming a grade school teacher.

Kayla Doucette, absolutely loves cheerleading.
She began her competitive cheerleading journey while attending Assumption College; this is where she fell in love with the sport. After graduating she was offered a coaching position with Assumption College. Her passion for cheer continued to grow and she was offered yet another coaching position, this time with Brantford Collegiate Institute’s advanced competitive cheer team. Aside from having a true passion for Cheerleading Kayla, also loves working with youth. She has just completed her undergraduate at Wilfrid Laurier university for a degree in contemporary studies. She will be returning to university to gain her teaching degree at Brock university. Kayla hopes to achieve her lifelong goal of being a teacher. Brantford Cheer welcomes Kayla Doucette.

Maggie Jansen, is a tumbling powerhouse!
She brings over 10 years of formal dance training. Maggie has won an endless amount of competitions & numerous scholarships. In 2014 she won Junior Miss Dance New York & traveled to Florida to compete in the very prestigious Junior Miss Dance of America. Maggie loves learning & gaining new experiences. She very frequently travels to Toronto to take workshops with critically acclaimed choreographers. In addition, to dance Maggie also has a love for cheer. She started her cheerleading training for the local Red Sox cheerleading team. Maggie enjoys the added team element cheerleading offers, and is very excited to be apart of Brantford Cheer. Currently, Maggie teaches Recreational Cheer, Ballet, Jazz & Acro, at Studio A-Academy of Performing Arts. She has proven herself as a positive role model & mentor, for all her students!

Kylie Littlejohn, is excited to be part of Brantford cheer!
Kylie grew up in Newmarket, Ontario. It was here where she started cheerleading for the Xtreme Outlaws All-Star Cheerleading Team.
She continued her Cheer training throughout high school, and even took on a position coaching at a local Public school. In addition, to her dedication for cheer she has a true love for working with youth. Kylie is a recent graduate of Niagara College, where she completed her Diploma in Child and Youth Worker. It is her dream to open her own Daycare! Kylie is extremely excited to be apart of Brantford Cheer, and hopes to inspire her athletes to go after their goal!
